Gagne Lake

Throughout life, it feels like you can't stop. As you age, life continues to become more and more busy. You have your job and hobbies while also trying to balance your social life; it can be tough to escape, clear your schedule, and unplug. Book writer John Comer puts it this way in his book The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry, "Corrie Ten Boom once said that if the Devil can't make you sin, he'll make you busy. There's truth in that. Both sin and busyness have the exact same effect; they cut off your connection to God, to other people, and even to your own soul. " Busyness isn't good for your soul; sometimes, you just need a spot to unplug and enjoy God's nature around you. My uncle has this cabin in the middle of Queens Land in Ontario, Canada, with no one around and a two-mile hike to get to the lake. This cabin is nowhere. A spot where you take a step back in time and enjoy the nature around you. I recently spent a weekend up there, allowing me to unplug and fully relax. I got to see the glory of God through the beauty of the stars at night to the quietness of the water gently brushing against the shoreline. With no one else for miles, it is just the people with me and God. My question is, do you have a getaway spot where you can just be, where the phone turns off, and you aren't getting distracted by a TV or radio. I urge you to find a lake and catch some fish, hike a mountain, run through a park, fill your lungs with natural air, and reset your system.

1 Samuel 12:16

Now therefore stand still and see this great thing that the Lord will do before your eyes. (ESV)
